He had held a secret that destroyed her world.
Everything she had known was no longer true.
Blaire couldn’t stop loving him but she knew she could never forgive him.
Now, she was back home and learning to live again. Moving on with life… until something happened to send her world spinning once again.
What do you do when the one person you can never trust again is the one that you need to trust so desperately?
You lie, hide, avoid, and pray that your sins never find you out.
Blaire Wynn was back in Alabama nursing her broken heart, trying to escape everything that was Rush Finlay. But it was short-lived. She finds out that she’s pregnant with Rush’s baby. She’s 19 and she needed the money to take care of her baby. Bethy, her best friend from Florida, invited her back to live with her. She decided to stay and got her job back at the country club courtesy of Woods.
Woods, however impossible in real life, was just too kind. He found out that Blaire was pregnant and he was really good to her. He also agreed to keep Rush from knowing Blaire’s secret. She was determined to keep Rush out of her life because of the heartache that he has caused her. But then, of course, Rush and Blaire had to make up and be all happy and all about the pregnancy.
In all honesty, I felt like my face was being dragged on an asphalt. I mean, the story seemed to be getting nowhere! Rush would say things like, “No. One. Comes. Before. You.”, then something happens to Nan, his sister, then he dropped Blaire for a week without a word. I know that love is a really complicated thing, we would always react differently to some situations. When Rush came back, Blaire took him with open arms, as if nothing happened, that she wasn’t even hurt. I wanted to throw the book away and tell her how stupid she was being. Sigh.
Either you fall in love with Rush or you just hate him. Well, you can’t really hate him because he’s just swoon-worthy! Blaire’s innocence, however, was totally lost in this sequel. From being a virgin to a temptress in bed the next, wow, how things changed!
Sometimes, I like to torture myself, so yes, I read the third book. Review next!
