Yesterday, I discovered that I lost all my Bloglovin followers. Sporadic Reads isn’t even on my profile. When I clicked on my Bloglovin link, it said Sorry, the web page doesn’t exist. I was like, WTFuckery is this?! If this happened to you, you would panic, right? Apparently, my followers were mysteriouly moved to a blog I don’t own. I have no idea how this happened, but it did. I don’t have a lot of followers, but I treasure them so much, so it was so upsetting that such a thing could happen. According to their support article : First of all, I did not move. Secondly, I did not post any Hey, guys, I am moving! on this blog. So I was so confused as to how this could happen. So many questions popped in my head – How could a huge network make this mistake? The person who moved doesn’t even have sporadicreads.com in their URL, so how? how? how?! When they finally responded after 24-something-hours, this was their explanation (I purposely took off the service name of the person who responded) :
Hi, There was an internal error within our Admin system that confused your blog with another and moved the followers and claim of yours instead of that one. So sorry you had to be dragged into that! Best Regards, Bloglovin’
To be honest, this explanation doesn’t really tell me anything. If they do have their strict policies in changing the blog address on your account, then how could a simple checking of the blog URL and the moving blog post confuse them? I will not be mentioning which blog was confused with mine, but what you should know is, our URLs are so different. Yes, I will still use Bloglovin. I’ve discovered a lot of blogs from there, but this experience was very infuriating. I do not wish it on anyone, specially to those who also worked so hard to gain followers by producing beautiful content for their readers. And in case you want to follow me, here’s my Bloglovin’ link. Huzzah!
Also, on my link, it still says I have no followers, so I don’t know if this will show up on your feeds sad
