Hi I’m Kate, I’ve been good friends with Dre for several years now. Aside from liking each others’ company, we share a common bond of being book lovers. I think I have an addiction for reading, I have an unholy love for it. I sometimes have to force myself to go out and see the world and be with friends and other people instead of curling up with a good book at home and a cup of warm tea. I get immersed in a book sometimes that I’d forget the real world is out there waiting to be explored. A book in itself for me really is a universe begging to be explored, and so I get lost in it sometimes. Luckily I have a good set of friends and family who reminds me to go out once in a while . But this – this is where I share my thoughts and views about the different universes that I get so lost into.Fellow book lovers are the ones who understand that feeling, you know the one you get after reading a really incredible book that blew your mind and you just have this overwhelming urge to share it with everybody you meet, and tell them how great it is. So, really this is an outlet for me to let out that after-book rants and raves bouncing in my head. Mostly, I would be writing about how the book made me feel as a whole, how the story affected me, and how strongly I liked or disliked the characters and probably my favorite scenes. I read for all sorts of reasons – to be entertained, to laugh, to escape, to feel , to have a different perspective. I sometimes read a book because the mood strikes me or the cover looks pretty. So I’d be reviewing books from different genres, I love different kinds. However, I’m always on the look out for really great books to read, I’m have my eyes out for books like what’s described in this quote by Kafka: “We need the books that affect us like a disaster, that grieve us deeply, like the death of someone we loved more than ourselves, like being banished into forests far from everyone, like a suicide.” When I find a book that affects me like that, I’ll first offer a thanksgiving feast to the god of great books and then I’ll be sure to rave to the high heavens about it!
