The Weekly Roundup is a meme created for Sporadic Reads to talk about the week that went by in the blog, share links from around the net, which also includes my Weekend Readings, and my weekly Stacking The Shelves.
For the past weeks, I’ve been fighting off my reading slump. (And while I was at it, I’ve watched a whole lot of Asian Dramas, so I will include some of the ones that I’ve finished during my weekly roundups!) But I got over it, and I was able to finish Dangerous Girls and We Were Liars. Now, I am in the middle of The Truth About Alice. It seems like fluff didn’t work for me. I had to read these dark-themed books.
Also, I’ve been teaching myself how to read and write Hangul (한글) or the Korean alphabets. I actually bought books to teach me Japanese and Korean, but right now, my focus is Hangul. It was pretty amazing when Korean letters start to make sense. I am using this app to teach me the Korean alphabets. It’s free on Android. I can spell my name in Hangul now : 드레이 (Dre, but I added an ‘i’ because adding just ‘e’ in the end would have a flat sound). I do hope I don’t forget the Japanese words and phrases that I’ve learned so far. I’ve been spouting lots of them for the past weeks! It’s never too late to learn a new language! – Faye
Book I Finished
- We Were Liars by E. Lockhart – 2 Stars – Simply put, it was robotic, and a lot of the things in the book were pointless. I was quite dissatisfied with this book. My review will be up next week.
